Growing up in a very traditional family household, we have always found that jobs and careers are crucial in the family when we grow older. The cultural pressure from families in Vietnam demands children go into “normative” majors and careers, disallowing any possibility of pursuing passions and exploring novel careers. This has skewed development on a macro-level, deterring many children, squashing potential, and brain-draining many others. 

Pathways strive to change the optics. As educators in our local areas and participants in countless projects, we have been able to access resources to help empower and inform Vietnamese high school students about future majors and careers. We have partnered with Agritage and Summit Education to assist Pathways and you on your journey. We hope for you to be able to access resources and participate in our events to gain insight into the different majors and careers our complex society provides. The vast amount of information has been curated and tailored for Vietnamese students in a similar situation as us.
